The Hartford has signed a definitive agreement to acquire all outstanding common shares of The Navigators Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NAVG), a global specialty underwriter, for $70 a share, or $2.1 billion in cash. The transaction has been approved by the boards of directors of both companies and is subject to approval by Navigators’ shareholders and other customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
